About

An honest directory for a industry that badly needs one

LocksmithWiki exists because the locksmith industry has a scam problem — fake local listings, $19 ads that become $400 invoices, and call centers reselling your emergency to the highest bidder. We list only companies we've verified ourselves.

What we are

An independent directory of 11 verified locksmith companies across 5states (and growing). We are not a locksmith, not a dispatch service, and not a lead reseller. Every phone number on this site rings the company's own line, and clicking it costs you nothing.

How we verify

Every listing goes through the same four checks before it appears — and gets re-checked quarterly:

  • Licensing, stated honestly.Where a state requires a locksmith license (California, Texas, North Carolina), we record the number. Where it doesn't (Florida, Washington), we say so plainly instead of inventing a badge.
  • Ratings checked at the source.Scores come from each company's public Google profile, confirmed on Google Maps by our team. Unconfirmed ratings show as “pending” — never as a number.
  • Insurance confirmed. Every listed company carries business insurance.
  • Direct lines only. No national dispatch desks, no middlemen.

What reviews mean here

We publish only reviews we can source and attribute: testimonials from a company's own website, and summaries of public Google reviews with a link to the originals. We never write, buy, or invent reviews — for anyone. If a company's section says “reviews coming soon,” that's the honest state of the record.

How companies get removed

One verified bait-and-switch report — a written quote that grew on arrival without cause — is enough for removal. Feedback from visitors (including the anonymous forms on each profile, launching soon) feeds directly into that decision. That is our only lever, and we use it.
